A drive through the mountains

Every fall we get the bug to go up into the mountains and see the leaves and the elk. With two little ones this trip is laced with as much apprehension as it is excitement. We never know if we will be faced with crying, screaming, bathroom stops every ten minutes, or hours of laughing, singing, and cute conversation. Fortunately, the latter was true this time.

The girls knew what elk were and we practiced calling them as we drove up the mountain. India kept asking where they were and told us that we had to be patient because we didn't know if we would see any. When we saw the first elk the girls were even more excited than we were. Then, when a family of mule deer crossed the street about 10 feet from us, they went nuts! And that wasn't even the grand finale. A local golf course proved to be home to at least 30 elk! It was a very fruitful trip and we were sorry to see it end.

Love you all! Come to Colorado...it's beautiful!!!

Jordyn's First Trip to the Dentist

Jordyn had her first trip to the dentist this past week. She was apprehensive at first, but after getting to squirt the water across the room, fill a cup, drink it, and then suck the rest up with "Mr. Thirsty" she let them look in her mouth. India was a very supportive big sister.
India had her 6 month check up as well. She was so brave and a great helper. She was able to do the suction for her own mouth. Boy the dentist has come a long way since we were kids...they now paint the flouride on in about 30 seconds and she could eat and drink immediately. I don't know if it tastes any better because she said it was making her sick when we got into the car.

Junior Firefighters

India and Jordyn have such a love of firetrucks and firemen. Last week at dance class we had to evacuate the building because of a gas smell and they were fascinated by the firetruck that came roaring to the scene with its siren blaring. The firemen were so kind that when they were finished checking out the building they stopped and talked to the kids and gave them all stickers.

Since the girls loved the firetruck and firemen so much, Linwood took them on a dad/daughter fieldtrip to the local firestation. Aren't they precious?!

Colorado Guest

We had the treat last week of getting to spend some time with Grandpa. The girls were REALLY excited! They made him zucchini bread muffins (and only stole one of them for themselves) and wished that they had had time to color him a picture. We were all in heaven!
Thank you for stopping off to see us Grandpa!

Broncos Game

A friend of ours was kind enough to share her season tickets to the Broncos Games with us last weekend. We had a GREAT time!!! Except for Daddy, it was our first time to a professional football game. Our seats were really good and there was always excitement around us. The girls were dancing and singing for hours. Our friends, Marti and Bob, also gave the girls Broncos bears (much to Linwood's horror).
