School news
We had parent teacher conferences for India this month. Her teachers say that she is an absolute joy to have in class and that it is exciting to teach someone that has such a love for learning. This is one of the "play plans" that they do everyday. India has to draw a picture of herself playing in a center before she actually goes to play. Apparantly our child has a very distinct way of drawing noses and that is how her teachers can always recognize her drawings.

Daddy's Cheerleaders
The girls and I went to Daddy's basketball game this week. They were absolutely thrilled to be cheerleaders! India waved her pom pom and cheered for the entire game. Jordyn got bored quickly and decided to take everything out of my purse. We set the boundry that they had to stay behind the black line on the floor (the side line). Both girls found it pretty irresistable to run across the line, shake their booties, and run back. I think that they were the hit of the game and everyone slept well that night!

Valentine's Weekend
Happy belated Valentine's day to everyone we love out there! We played it low-key here and decided to celebrate with our first trip to the zoo this year. Finally the sub-zero temperatures are gone and we get to play outside! Here are some pictures of our adventures.

The Love Revolution
I just wanted to share this amazing book I have just started reading...The Love Revolution by Joyce Meyer. I don't know about everyone else, but I struggle with maintaining a positive attitude while performing those necessary, day-to-day tasks. Last week my memory verse was:
Phillipians 2:14 "I will do all things without grumbling and complaining."
I have been succeeding outwardly, but those grumbling thoughts still pop into my mind. Well, I was reading this book and I was so humbled it just knocked me off my feet. How could I complain about making dinner every night when there are parents who cannot provide food for their children? Or complain about unloading the dishwasher when some people don't have clean water to drink? It really put everything into perspective for me.
I usually don't promote books, but this book has really made an impression on me. After reading the first chapter I have already put together a proposal for a program to assist the "needy" students at my school and we have sponsored a 7 year old boy in Rwanda. Who knows what will happen by the time I finish the book!!! The overarching theme is that we, alone, cannot solve all the problems in the world, but we can each do something. I have always felt my heart crumble and ache as I read about suffering children. Many times I have asked God how he can let this happen. His answer to me was that he has already provided enough food, water, etc. for everyone on earth. Some people just don't want to share.
I know this is unusually serious and profound for our website, but we still love you all!

Small thrills
I am surprised to say that we haven't taken many new pictures recently. The girls have wrestled through some colds - and who likes to have their picture taken when they're sick right? This week we got to spend 2 extra days at home together after some bitterly cold weather...wind chills were in the -20 and -30's...coldest weather we have ever been in!!!!
It honestly just thrilled me to no end to get to spend so much time with my girls!! We did circle time, sang songs, danced, read, cooked, and just acted silly.
Some of the little things that tickle me beyond belief:
1. Watching India try to "mother" her little sister. It warms my heart whether Jordyn receives it or not.
2. Hearing Jordyn say, "Look at how fast I run" as she runs and leaps across the living room.
3. Potty dances!
4. Listening to the girls make up their own songs.
5. Watching Jordyn put on her backpack, push her shopping cart around, and announce that she'll be back she's going to the store.
6. Seeing India trace letters and write her name.
7. Finding Jordyn sitting up in her bed reading a book when I go to wake her up.
8. Coming into the bathroom at bathtime and finding that India has already gotten out everything we need and is asking if she can turn on the water.
9. Watching the girls leaping, running, stretching, and laughing.
10. The excitement of the girls going to their cousin Cenika's house for a sleepover.

Life is sweet!
Happy 3 day weekend to those of you who are so blessed!
We are and couldn't be more excited about our extra day to spend together.
Life in CO has been cold with a little snow, but our hearts are just boiling over!

Grandma and Grandpa's visit
We had such a wonderful time visiting with Grandma and Grandpa! They spoiled India and Jordyn by taking them to the park, playing with play-doh for hours, and catering to most of their wishes. We even got in some sight-seeing. Our time together always goes so fast, we were sorry to see them go! (Most of these pics are mom's, our camera finally conked out and there was a delay before we got a new one. We missed out on some good pics with Grandma!!)
