EXCITING!!!!!

This week has truly been over the top on the excitement scale. First, I went back to school and even after 11 years of teaching I still get butterflies on the first day. India had her first day of Kindergarten and she LOVED it, Praise the Lord. They sing songs, play games, and in India's words "do more things than she could ever tell us before bedtime." She even likes the before and after school care :-) India also lost another tooth yesterday. When we picked her up from school it was just hanging and the bacon and eggs we had for dinner was enough to break it free. SOOOO over the top excited. Jordyn also had her first day of Preschool, which she has been waiting for since India went to Preschool. She LOVED it too! She couldn't stop talking about playing dress-up and going to the playground. It is especially adorable to hear the girls talk to each other about their schools and their days. Thank you Lord for an amazing first week of school!

Every end has another beginning

Tomorrow is our last official day of summer vacation together. It has been one of the busiest, craziest, and most fun summers we have had. It has been awesome that the girls are older now and can do so much more. No need to run home for naps. Of course the downside to that is that mommy doesn't get naptime to get things done and so there are less phone calls and webposts made. Here is a list of the highlights and some photos of the past week: 1) Grandma and Grandpa visiting. 2) Disneyland/California Trip (Is it bad that I already want to go back?) 3) Playdates, playdates, playdates! 4) Swimming. The girls have made so much progress this summer it is amazing! We were at the pool a few days a week. They can swim underwater and jump off the diving board. We are definitely continuing swimming lessons during the school year. 5) Lakeside Amusement Park - we just went here today and it was so much fun! A little park that is the same as it was 60 years ago. It is a piece of history with an amazing kiddie ride section (carnival style). Cheap rides, $1 snowcones, slurpees, popcorn, and cotton candy with NO LINES :-) 6) Sleeping in and having lots of stay home time Now, off to work and school again. It is hard to believe that India will be in Kindergarten. She is understandably nervous/apprehensive since she is going to a new school with all new friends. She did see the playground last week and was immediately won over so I think that got her a little more excited to go. Jordyn will be a preschooler and boy is she ready! We dropped off her supplies today and from going along to get India from there for 2 years she is already an old hand at it.

What a great visit!

Sorry we have been MIA for a while. We were having some difficulty with our computer but I think that all the kinks are worked out now so you should be hearing from us more. School starts for mom on August 15th and the girls on August 20th. This summer went fast but it was so awesome. Each year as the girls get older we get to experience new levels of independence and activities that we can do. By far a highlight of our summer was Grandma and Grandpa's visit. The girls are still talking about it and looking at the pictures. India and Jordyn enjoyed jumping on Grandpa and experiencing the infamous scissor hold. They loved it! And Grandma kept them occupied with fun crafts and activities. We are so blessed to have such wonderful parents and family :-)
