Imaginations and Truths

Jordyn's dream last night....."I went to the Olive Garden with Daddy and ate olives. Then I went flying. Then I saved the world." Followed by cute, shy giggles.

The other week we were leaving a restaurant. It was just starting to snow and windy. A lady came in right as we were exiting. As we passed her India spoke, then said, "Excuse me, Your hair is a mess". We were speechless. The lady was very gracious and played it off well. She said,"Oh, it is? Thank you so much for telling me." She smoothed a piece of her hair down and moved another saying, "How is that is that better?" India said "A little bit." And kept walking.

Horses, Paper Dolls, and lots of Energy

One of the most fabulous things about being a preschooler has got to be the limitless amounts of energy. These two beautiful girls wake up in 5th gear and leave me in the dust until I can get my morning coffee. While I am always trying to figure out how I can bottle some of that energy for myself, it is what makes our days so lively and entertaining. The Western Stock Show is in town and the girls have embraced it fully and found their inner Cowgirls. Their rocking horse has been the center of play for a few weeks now, sometimes with the costume and sometimes without. The girls have also gotten their first "paper dolls." They are much bigger than when I was a little girl, but the girls couldn't be more thrilled. It is safe to say that they love these princesses. They hug them, kiss them, talk to them, dance with them, and India has brought hers up to stand beside her bed for the past few nights. They are having so much fun!

The other main topic of conversation at the Washington house is all of the baby cousins that were just born! Jeremy is now a little over a month old and Christopher and Melody are 5 days old. They talk about who will feed them and change their diapers and we are all counting the days until we get to see them in person.

Happy New Year!!!

It is exciting to be writing our first webpost of 2012! We had a very blessed and wonderful 2011, but there is something almost magical about new beginnings. The opportunity to do things right, a fresh start, and the best thing is that nothing horrible or traumatic has had to happen to have this opportunity. We are so looking forward to this new year and all of the treasures and memories that each day will hold.
We brought in the new year here at home. Cousin Cenika spent the night so I thought it would be fun to have our own new years party and celebrate the new year at 7PM instead of midnight. We spent the day before making decorations and noise makers. That day we did what we could to make it special including drinking our milk at dinner out of crystal glasses. I have to say that my favorite part was playing "Go Fish" with the girls. They don't yet get the concept of keeping their cards a secret and they were really excited to have what their competitors were asking them for. I tried not to take advantage of the situation and I think I only won one game.
Well, you can imagine my shock when new years arrived and the girls were sad...India even cried. They let me know that I had promised them a party and we never had a party. Apparently unless other people come, it is not a party. Who knew?! Next year I will have to think of a better name.

We are praying for blessings to overtake each and every one of you this year and most importantly that God will be with you every step of the way.
Love you all!
